Apples, Pretzels, Homemade Caramel Sauce and Homemade Chocolate Sauce
Caramel Sauce Recipe
1 1/2 sticks butter
3/4 cups brown sugar
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 cups toasted pecans (optional)
Preheat oven to 350 degree. Spread the pecans on a baking sheet and toast for 5-8 minutes. If you start smelling the pecans, rush to the oven and get them out because they are done!
In large sauce pan melt butter and brown sugar cooking over medium heat stirring until smooth. Stir in heavy cream and salt and bring to a boil. Simmer until slightly thickened, about 3 minutes. Let the caramel cool.
Coarsely chop the cooled pecans and add to the caramel.
Serve with apples, on cheesecake, apple pie, ice cream, or just spoon it into your mouth. Put in mason jars to give as a gift with a pretty ribbon and label. You will use this recipe again and again!!!
